According to a new report published, leading chip manufacturers Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek have reportedly entered the early stages of developing Wi-Fi 7 chips.
According to the latest report of Digitimes , one of the industry’s leading news sources , Broadcom , Qualcomm and MediaTek have started developing Wi-Fi 7 , the next generation wireless communication standard .
Wi-Fi 7 standard is revealed
Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) will be the successor to the Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 6E standards . The new technology will provide a twofold increase in data transfer rate due to the combination of radio frequency spectra and additionally offer an increase in Wi-Fi 7 wireless network range .
As with previous versions of Wi-Fi , the 802.11be standard is designed with backward compatibility. In other words , devices with old modems will also work with Wi-Fi 7 . According to the news, this technology will be ready to be launched in 2-3 years . At the same time, Wi-Fi 7 supported devices will also start appearing in the market .
