US city plans to accept Bitcoin for tax payments

According to the statements made, the city of Jackson, located in the state of Tennessee in the United States, plans to allow tax payments to be made with Bitcoin.

Mayor Scott Conger announced today that residents in Jackson, the eighth-largest city in the state of Tennessee, are working on paying property taxes in Bitcoin (BTC). It is also among the information that Conger aims to turn the city into a crypto money center .

Conger also expressed his concerns about the depreciation of the dollar in another tweet he shared. The President said, “Why do we accept inflation? Why don’t we demand more from the federal government? 6.3% in the last two years, 172.8% in my lifetime . Every year, our dollar becomes worthless,” he said. The country’s treasury minister, Sara Eisen, also said in a recent interview that inflation will rise for a few more months.

Wanted to lead the crypto revolution

President Conner wants to lead the crypto revolution. He first announced in April that he wanted to integrate cryptocurrencies into the economy of the city of Jackson. In the same month, he founded the blockchain team. Conger follows in the footsteps of the mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez , who proposed paying taxes in Bitcoin earlier this year . Suarez also stated that he wanted to turn Miami into a mining center by attracting miners leaving China to the country.

Apart from Tennessee and Florida, the states of Texas and Wyoming are among the states that are trying to become crypto money centers.
