Sony unveils new flagship Xperia 1 III: Snapdragon 888, 4K display and enhanced camera

Sony, one of the technology giants, officially introduced the new flagship smartphone model Xperia 1 III. The device has the Snapdragon 888 chipset and other eye-catching features.

Japanese company Sony introduced its new generation flagship smartphones. The most advanced of the new products is the Xperia 1 III, which combines all of the company’s advanced technologies, including a telescopic zoom lens combined with a Dual-PD sensor, HDR support and 4K OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.

At the heart of the device is the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is currently the most advanced solution on the market. It has been announced that the internal storage of the device, which offers 12GB of RAM capacity, is 256GB. It is possible to say that Sony traditionally pays special attention to the main camera of the smartphone.

The Xperia 1 III features three 12-megapixel Exmor RS sensors. The main sensor is complemented by an f / 1.7 wide angle lens. Another sensor works in conjunction with ultra-wide angle optics. As for the other sensor, Sony has decided to combine it with a telescopic zoom lens with f / 2.3 and f / 2.8 apertures.

Note that the camera optics have been developed in collaboration with ZEISS. The module also includes a 3D iToF sensor. The smartphone camera enables continuous shooting without interruption by shooting up to 20 frames per second. Traditionally, shutter control for Sony flagships is provided by a separate physical button on the side of the case. The front camera has an 8-megapixel sensor.

Features that also attract gamers

The screen of the smartphone is also described as extraordinary. The Xperia 1 III has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a 21: 9 aspect ratio, 4K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. There is also HDR support. The screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, the latest technology in terms of protection.

Separately, let’s talk about the audio capabilities of the device. The Xperia 1 III has a 3.5mm audio jack, which is currently rare on flagship devices. The manufacturer claims the device is the world’s first smartphone to offer 360 Reality Audio experience through its built-in stereo speakers.

Sony has also focused on software features that make the Xperia 1 III a great choice for mobile gamers. It talks about the ability to record games at 120 FPS per second and the function of increasing the detail and brightness of the image in dark areas. Also remarkable is the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller support. The Xperia 1 III also has a 4500 mAh battery that Sony says can last for three years without losing capacity. With 30W fast charging, the battery can be charged up to 50 percent in 30 minutes.

The smartphone will be available in black, gray and purple colors. The acceptance of pre-orders begins today. It is not yet clear at what price the device will be available for sale.
