Ray tracing performance of the RX 6700 XT leaked

AMD has finally introduced hardware that is a response to Nvidia’s ray tracing technology. However, the DLSS alternative is still expected.

If the embargo of the RX 6700 XT, which will be available for sale in the coming days, still continues, some sources started to share the data of the new card early.

Based on extensive game testing, the RX 6700 XT looks equivalent to the RTX 3070 in 1440p. On the other hand, RDNA2’s technology, which is highly anticipated by the players, could not be given in the hardware ray tracing header.

It was observed that the RTX 3060 Ti, where RX 670 XT outperformed RTX by 9% when RTX was turned off, fell behind by 10% when RTX was activated.

Despite the superiority in rasterization-based comparisons, the disappointment when ray tracing is turned on will be valid for the RX 6700 XT as well as the other RX 6000 series models.

On the other hand, AMD’s not mentioning ray tracing may be due to the failure of the cards in this area, as well as the expectation that the DLSS alternative SuperFidelity FX will be available.

When we look at the prices, which is another important title besides the performance, the RX 6700 XT is positioned $ 20 below the RTX 3070 and $ 80 above the RTX 3060 Ti.
