Nvidia revamped RTX 3060’s miner constraint with driver

The RTX 3060’s miner limit, which was accidentally removed with the resulting driver, was reinstated with the last released driver. In addition, the last driver includes preparations for new limited cards.

After the news that the RTX 30 series we shared recently will be updated with Lite Hash Rate GPU cards, Nvidia started preparations on the driver’s side.

Update to miner constraint

There is an important detail among the notes of the GeForce 466.27 driver. Updating the RTX 3060’s cryptocurrency mining limit, the driver is also required for cards that will be available from mid-May next.

However, the PCI device ID of the new RTX 3060s that will come with the LHR is also different. This means that the old unrestricted driver will not work on the new cards. We hope Nvidia’s new move keeps miners away from players’ cards.
