The German brand, which plans to bring the classic Opel Manta model to life electrically, showed the ‘Pixel-Vizor’ feature of the vehicle in the teaser video it shared today. The main promotion is on May 19.
Parts related to the Manta GSe ElektroMOD project, which Opel announced last month, are slowly coming into place. Sharing a new teaser regarding the design of the vehicle, the company announced its launch date as May 19.
Many details about the Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD are still unclear. All we know so far is that the project will bring the legend of the 1970s Opel Manta back to life in an all-electric way. On the other hand, it is obvious that interior and exterior design will remain true to the spirit of the classic model, but modern technologies will not be forgotten. The teaser shared by the company today is actually related to one of these features.
In the announcement last month, we saw that Manta GSe ElektroMOD will have the front face named ‘Vizor’, which is within the scope of the company’s new design language. However, the German brand took the Vizor design further in this project and transformed this area, including the headlights, into a digital display and called it ‘Pixel-Vizor’.
The Pixel-Vizor, which stretches across the front of the car, can communicate with other road users and the environment through various messages and animations. For example, in the teaser video shared by Opel, we see that messages such as ‘I am on a zero e-mission’ and ‘I am an ElektroMOD’ are included in this area. If no message is displayed, there is the Opel logo in the middle of this area, which we can call the digital grid.
Technical details of Opel Manta GSe ElektroMOD are not yet clear. On the other hand, we do not know whether the project will start mass production or not. In the past months, we learned that Renault will return the 4 and 5 models electrically. A similar move could come from Opel.
