More affordable versions of the electric Polestar 2 introduced

Available for sale as a twin-engine Launch Edition version, the electric Polestar 2 can now be purchased in a single-engine version. Moreover, standard and long range options are also available.

New versions of the electric Polestar 2 model introduced in 2019 and released with the Launch Edition version were introduced. These options will be more affordable than the Launch Edition version.

The first of the options added to Polestar 2 was the single-engine version. The front axle of the mentioned version has an electric motor that produces 231 horsepower. Polestar has increased the power of the engine in this area. Because in the version with two engines, each engine produces 204 horsepower. On the other hand, a 64 kWh battery option has been added to the 78 kWh battery. This enabled the single-engine Polestar 2 to have a driving range of up to 420 kilometers, according to EPA measurements.

The Launch Edition version of Polestar 2 is still available. On the other hand, it is seen that a new two-engine version with less equipment than this version has been added to the options. In other words, we can say that it is a more affordable version of the Launch Edition, which is the only dual-engine option. Customers can add different features to their vehicle by purchasing optional packages called Plus Pack, Pilot Pack and Performance Pack. The range of this version is 386 kilometers.

If we talk about the packages briefly, in the Plus Pack, extra features such as panoramic glass roof, 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, higher quality upholstery options, heated and memory front seats, heated rear seats and steering wheel come into play. In addition, according to Polestar, the heat pump, which increases the range of the vehicle by around 10 percent, is one of the features within the scope of Plus Pack.

Pilot Pack, on the other hand, focuses more on the security side. This package includes advanced driver assistance technologies such as Pixel LED headlights, LED fog lamps and adaptive cruise control, Pilot Assist, 360-degree surround view system and rear cross traffic warning.

The Performance Pack, which can be preferred in the twin-engine version of Polestar 2, includes Öhlins suspension, Brembo brakes, 20-inch forged alloy wheels surrounded by sports tires and aesthetic details called ‘Swedish Gold’. The prices of these packages were announced as 4500 euro, 3500 euro and 6000 euro, respectively.
