Technology giant Google brings many useful features to the Maps application. Live View is one of them for interiors that will help you quickly find what you are looking for in large venues.
Google announced in 2019 that it added Live View to Maps. The feature was limited to the outdoors only, but the tech giant is now expanding this feature to indoor spaces such as airports, shopping malls and train stations.
New features coming to Google Maps
Several new features have been added to Google Maps. Live View feature for interiors stands out as one of the most striking among these features. Live View for interiors will give users an advantage, especially in unfamiliar situations where business is an emergency. Thanks to Google Maps in an interior, users will be able to direct them to the desired place with arrows and digital indicators.
In Google’s blog post about the uses of the feature: “If you are on a plane or train, Live View will show you the nearest elevator and escalators, your door, your platform, your baggage claim, check-in counters, ticket office, toilets, ATMs and more Arrows and accompanying instructions will show you the right way. If you need to get something from the mall, use Live View to see which floor a store is on and how to get there, so you can get in and out in a snap. ” statements were included.
Google will also default to the route with the lowest carbon footprint when it has approximately the same estimated arrival time as the fastest route on Maps. Another standout feature is a new weather layer to help users plan their travels in advance. In addition to current and predicted temperature and weather conditions, the new air layer will show users air quality information in a selected area.
All these features are currently available in certain regions of the US and some countries, but will be available to a wider audience in the future.
