Ferrari announces that it will launch its first electric car in 2025


John Elkann, CEO of Ferrari, the Italian luxury sports car manufacturer, announced that the company will launch the electric car model within four years.

According to Engadget’s report, John Elkann announced to investors at the annual meeting held this week that an electric car under the Ferrari brand will be launched. Elkann promised that the all-electric Ferrari will see the light of day in 2025, four years from now. Interestingly, Elkan’s predecessors, who served as Ferrari CEO, made several controversial statements regarding electric vehicles. They stated that the company would never launch an electric car or, on the contrary, promised to be the first brand to launch an electric supercar.

We don’t have a driverless car plan

John Elkann said: “We continue to apply our electrification strategy in a multidisciplinary way. Our interpretation and application of these technologies in motorsport and road vehicles is a tremendous opportunity to bring Ferrari’s uniqueness and passion to the next generation.

Ferrari CEO also touched on autonomous driving issues. Although Elkann does not have a plan to produce driverless cars yet, Elkann promised to apply some autonomous driving technologies in different countries’ legislation and customer preferences, especially in high-speed GT class models.
