Elon Musk jokes about popular music group Linkin Park, Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE) and the Federal Reserve
Elon Musk made jokes about the popular music group Linkin Park, Bitcoin (BTC), Dogecoin (DOGE) and the Federal Reserve. Bitcoin fell after these shares.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk threw Bitcoin down more than 3 percent today by quoting the lyrics of the rock band Linkin Park’s chart-topping song “In the End.” The “meme” he shared shows a girlfriend willing to dump her boyfriend if he quotes the group one more time before finding someone else. Her boyfriend says it “doesn’t even matter” in response, referring to the Linkin Park song.
If Musk’s tweet wasn’t accompanied by the Bitcoin hashtag with the broken heart emoji showing that he’s parting ways with cryptocurrency, it could have been just a harmless tweet. The leading cryptocurrency immediately experienced a sharp decline with this tweet by Musk. Musk himself also seems to be enjoying damaging the market. In mid-May, Musk spoke threateningly, saying that Tesla could divest its Bitcoin holdings. But he later explained that no such thing had been done.
In addition to targeting Bitcoin, Musk made the meme cryptocurrency rise by making a comparison with the US Federal Reserve about Dogecoin. The billionaire thinks that DOGE’s endless supply is no different than printing US dollars.
Bitcoin tweet by Elon Musk drew the reaction of the community.
On the other hand, Tron CEO Justin Sun tweeted that Elon Musk can buy all the Bitcoins he will sell.
